Hello I’m Penny Chivers!
I have been teaching and mentoring home educated children for over 16 years and have extensive experience teaching pupils for GCSE/IGCSE exams along with assisting a whole range of children to learn to appreciate and understand numbers.
How can I help you?
I run a series of courses aimed at home educated children. All the classes are live and taken by myself. The courses follow the school year and cover all the topics on the KS3 and KS4 syllabuses.
My aim is to provide maths education in a fun environment, encouraging the children to contribute and participate in class rather than just watching a lecture or video on how a topic can be done.
I provide a full syllabus for each term, along with weekly handouts, homework and answer sheets, and half termly tests. The class sizes are small so that I can maintain a sense of personal attention, each member of class is an individual and I try to keep up with individual progression.

The 2 year IGCSE and 1-year higher IGCSE courses aim to prepare students for the Edexcel IGCSE Syllabus A summer exam series.

These courses aim to prepare students to progress onto the IGCSE courses. Both courses run for the full academic year. The classes are live.

Tutoring
After years of working with students and past papers, I know how to fully prepare students for answering exam questions and how to master exam technique.
Whether your child requires some extra tuition or if they are making preparations for GCSE, I can help. I have a wealth of experience in preparing children for exams, primarily the Edexcel IGCSE which is favoured by many in the HE community.
All classes are small and personable, and are totally designed, run, and taught by myself, making for a very personal experience. The majority of students really enjoy the class setting, they find the encouraged interaction boosts the learning experience.
